Hilarious Shirts!

by Gilbert on June 3, 2007

Oh man I want these shirts so bad!
I've become a huge threadless fan! They have so many great shirts. What makes them even cooler is that there are limited quantities! So you know you won't see everyone and their mom wearing it.

Will work for shirts! ;)

Red Eyes

by Gilbert on May 21, 2007

Red Eyes – A Starbucks coffee made up of 3/4 black coffee, and 3 shots of espresso. I had a "red eyes" today. Never again I say! So let's start from the beginning….

Me and Joe stopped by Starbucks this morning and got some coffee. Our friend Alexis had told us about this drink the night before, and we thought we could try it. Our Philosophy teacher said we should have an extra session to talk about Heidegger. We knew we wanted to be alert because of our extended session. So we both get one; Joe gets 2 shots; I get 3.

Mistake #1: Drinking super caffeinated drink on an empty stomach. Boy did I regret this after class. Mistake #2: Adding sugar. As if this drink didn't already have enough caffeine. And Mistake #3: Not realizing how much I would be affected. I thought this would help me focus, but my mind was so erratic that I couldn't keep a straight thought. Not to mention I couldn't keep still. But apparently I had a huge grin the whole time.

After our first session was over, our teacher had offered to by the class coffee for our second session. I made the wise choice of going with a decaff ice tea. As we all stood around the coffee stand, we saw Chris who came over and talked to us. Everyone could see the caffeine's effect on me. My constant shaking and moving, along with slurred words. So we all continue over and keep talking about Heidegger for another two hours. Then I have to run and grab lunch, run back and take a test in Human Sexuality.

Busy busy busy! At least I found out I got an A on my paper!

New Theme!

by Gilbert on May 4, 2007

I just finished the final touches on my new theme for GilbertSanchez.com. I like this one because it's very simple, darker (but not too dark!), and clean!

I used to do a lot of fancy tech design, but I really think that minimalism has been popular. It's also a lot easier to do in some aspects. In other, like using the appropriate ammount of white space, can be a big pain the butt.

Well I hope you guys like my new theme, Stormy Seas

Video Games in PE?

by Gilbert on April 29, 2007

P.E. Classes Turn to Video Game That Works Legs by Seth Schiesel, The New York Times

Children don’t often yell in excitement when they are let into class, but as the doors opened to the upper level of the gym at South Middle School here one recent Monday, the assembled students let out a chorus of shrieks.

In they rushed, past the Ping-Pong table, past the balance beams and the wrestling mats stacked unused. They sprinted past the ghosts of Gym Class Past toward two TV sets looming over square plastic mats on the floor. In less than a minute a dozen seventh graders were dancing in furiously kinetic union to the thumps of a techno song called “Speed Over Beethoven.”

Wow, I don't know what to think about this. I like the fact that they're getting kids more active, but at the same time… I really shouldn't complain because I was one of the chubby kids. I also noticed like many of the parents made it sound like the ultimate solution.

It's interesting to see that video games are being used for the positive attributes. I'm wondering when schools are going to get some Wii's. Can't wait to hear, "My arm hurts from playing WiiSports in PE."

Another new client!

Airserco is a mechanical and construction company that my dad does business with. I was approached to do their website, and create a new logo for them! I have the logo done, and am awaiting feedback. I have started the site, but until I have an ok about the color scheme, I won't upload it.

Check back for more updates!
